Pastor Jason Ingram Bio

Jason wins the prize for having traveled the furthest to "get here" ... he hails from Albemarle, North Carolina, home to himself, his entire family (yup, he's the black sheep) and ... Kellie Pickler (his private shame).  He was born and raised in a Christian home and attended church his entire life ... yet missed much of what it meant to follow Christ until age eighteen, when he accepted Jesus as His Savior on a picnic table at Wiscassett Park in Albemarle.  

The decision to follow impacted everything Jason did from there on out: he chose Liberty University over UNC, he chose singing over journalism, and he chose to audition for, join and travel with various missions-based vocal teams over settling down into a more "normal" life.  Being on these teams - LIGHT from LU and MISSION from World Help ministries in Virginia - allowed him to see places he would have never otherwise visited (Brazil, India, China) and to minister to people he definitely never would have otherwise met.  His travels also took him to Moreno Valley, CA, where he met and struck an instant relationship with Pastor Paul Cunningham and Paul's wife, Kim.

When his traveling days ended in 2004, he took Paul and Kim up on a job offer to lead worship at Calvary Baptist Church in Moreno Valley.  He joined an impressive group of musicians in bringing exciting, impactful worship to Calvary for seven years before moving into a more administrative role in the summer of 2011.  Throughout the week, you can find Jason putting out various fires around the CBCMV campus (figurative fires, that is ... only the floods are real) ... on the weekends, you can find him holding down the tenor vocal on the still-awesome CBCMV praise team.

Jason met and married Kim's cousin Charva Cason in 2005, and the pair are parents to precocious tots Ivy and Cason, who clock in at 6 years and 20 months, respectively, but are easily spiritual 18- and 13-year-olds ... especially when it comes to sass and smarts.  On to bullet points!

• Favorite Dish: A wicked wrap-around behind-the-back pass to Steve Ward on the blacktop at LU in 2003 ... I think we were playing a grade-school girls' team ...
